Time To Shine

Tonight is my night to shine
I will stand before a crowd
As I bust a rhythm and rhyme
The noise will be very loud

The lights start to dim
The screams start to subside
I will play on every whim
As they listen to what I provide

The beat starts to flow
The vinyl starts to spin
I let everything go
Their faces begin to grin

The bass fills the air
Flowing in every soul
Should I even dare
Can I reach my goal

People begin dancing
I increase the pace
The atmosphere enchancing
The all embrace

The song is ending
There is breat of relief
The results pending
I'm in disbelief

They call for an encore
It is time for me to close
I know they want more
Until next night I suppose

Some questions being answered

Some people may be asking a couple of questions so I am going to answer them!

1.) Why do you want to be a DJ?

When you are listening to that favorite song of yours and you get this feeling welling up inside of you because it is just right and it hit the perfect cord in your soul. All of the sudden you just have to smile, dance, move, or jump. I want to make that feeling in other people and I want to be able to create that music. If you don't know what I am talking about, then imagine it like this, it is when that special someone walks through the door, or you hug that special person or they just give you a look or smile that sends you through the roof. If you are still lost then I don't what to tell you other than it might be like Christmas morning when you see all the presents under the tree and you find that one gift that you really wanted.

2.) What type of DJ do you wanna be?

For my music I want to mix elextronica, but if I am at a party doing my thing I have to play what the people want. Though my heart will always be with the electronica-especially Trance, Techno, House, and Hardcore.

3.) Do you know if you are any good, have you mixed before?

For all I know I will completely suck I have personally never tried before but I want too, before I actually spend all of my money I am planning on a trip up north to a place where I know that they have practice tables. I only hope I have half way decent.

4.) When do you hope to start mixing and spinning?

As soon as possible, but in the end I am guessing by around Winter of 07, but I hope sooner, it all depends on how much money that I have and what type of time I have on my hands.

Beat

I have the control
I am the reason they sway
I have the control
I make the girls move

I am in control
I cause everyone to dance
I am in control
I make them move faster

I am loosing control
I make them breath harder
I am loosing control
I see them start to sweat

I am out of control
I am the reason they drink more
I am out of control
I make them all take a break

I am the beat
I have the control and use it
I am the beat
I get out of control and lose it

My Plan

To simply put it, I want to become a DJ.
I want to mix my own music, I want to play at parties, I would love to have concerts, I have my heros and I have my dreams but I am not positive where it will all take me, it will slowly develop over time.

My original goal this summer was to get a job, get some money, and start buying up gear, but currently I have to start working a whole lot more hours to get the kind of money that I am going to be needing. My goal is looking at costing at minimum around $3,000. I have crunched the numbers and I have cut the corners. This is getting a decent Notebook computer to work and play from, turn tables, external hardrive for music, and programs to work with. From there I will have to buy songs if I ever hope of going professional. I will possibly be able to borrow my friends mic, amp, and two speakers. From there I can start doing a couple of parties for my friends and a couple of dances at my school, possibly...

But I can only hope for the best and then see what happens.

Oh yeah, and if you couldn't tell my name is going to be
DJ Certitude

Certitude means to have purpose, meaning, and reason...I thought it sounded pretty good

Movement Flux

Sliding from side to side
Feel the beat in your feet
You are unable to decide
Where each of them will meet

The bass flows through you
Bouncing in every bone
Your body knows what to do
It seems like you’re all alone

There is a primal feeling
Rising inside like a beast
It tells you to start jumping
And to never cease

There are drums in your head
Beating to an exotic rhythm
Focusing on what has been said
Trying hard to dim them

A wave of people to the floor
As they all move in tight
You can no longer see the door
They will rave until it is light

The song starts to climax
Melodically caressing your mind
The momentum begins to tax
As your body starts to bind

Your breathing begins to thin
The DJ looks you in the eyes
As the world begins to spin
It’s as if everyone else dies

The sweat beads on your face
There are bends in your tux
Trying to keep with the pace
This is what’s called a movement flux

Reason for Starting a Blog

I have found an interest in releasing some of my creativity and thoughts onto the internet, I originally had a journal on this blog, but I have changed the format and removed all old blog enteries. I want to hear your thoughts on what I write, what I say, and what happens as I become the DJ that I hope to be one day.
